John Salt (bishop)

John William Salt OGS (30 October 1941 – 7 February 2017) was an English Anglican bishop. He was born in Stoke-on-Trent [1] and became a deacon in 1966 and a priest in 1967. He was the Bishop of St Helena from 1999 to 2011. During his time as bishop, he lived on the island of Saint Helena, which is in the South Atlantic Ocean.
Salt returned to the United Kingdom after he retired. He died on 7 February 2017 in Walsingham, Norfolk, at the age of 75.[2]
