John Updike
American novelist, poet (1932–2009)
John Hoyer Updike (March 18, 1932 - January 27, 2009) was an American author of works including Rabbit, Run and Couples. He was born in Reading, Pennsylvania. He died of lung cancer in Danvers, Massachusetts in January 2009.
