Josefa Tauli

Josefa Cariño Tauli (Sefa Tauli) is a Filipino indigenous people's rights activist. She is an Ibaloi-Kankanaey Igorot indigenous youth from the Cordillera, Philippines. She is policy co-coordinator and a member of the Steering Committee of the Global Youth Biodiversity Network (GYBN). The network is the international coordination platform for youth participation in the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD).[1][2]

Josefa Cariño Tauli is an advocate for meaningful youth participation and indigenous peoples' rights. Since 2018, she has contributed to the Global Youth Biodiversity Network's participation in global biodiversity policy processes, such as the development of the post-2020 Global Biodiversity Framework. She is also an honorary member of the ICCA Consortium, an international association dedicated to promoting the appropriate recognition of and support for territories and areas conserved by indigenous peoples and local communities.[3][4]

In the year 2020, Josefa Tauli was part of the Fall 2020 Cohort of National Geographic Young Explorers.[5]
