Kenneth Alwyn
conductor (1925-2020)
Kenneth Alwyn (born Kenneth Alwyn Wetherell)[2] (28 July 1925 – 11 December 2020) was an English conductor, composer and writer. He was called by the BBC as "one of the great British musical directors".[3]

Alwyn was known for his many recordings, including with the London Symphony Orchestra on Decca's first stereophonic recording of Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture. He was also known for his works with BBC Radio 2's orchestral live music programme Friday Night is Music Night.
He was a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Music.[4]
Alwyn died on 11 December 2020 in London at the age of 95.[5]
