Levelland is a city in the state of Texas in the United States. It is the county seat of Hockley County.[4] About 12,652 people lived there in 2020.[3]

In November 1957, some drivers in Levelland saw an unidentified flying object that caused automobiles to stop until it lifted. Two of the drivers were Weir Clem, Levelland's sheriff, and Ray Jones, a firefighter.[5]
