Soviet politician (1897-1939)

Levon Isayevich Mirzoyan (Armenian: Լևոն Եսայիի Միրզոյան; Russian: Левон Исаевич Мирзоян; 14 November 1897[1][2] – 26 February 1939) was a Soviet politician who served as the First Secretary of the Azerbaijan Communist Party from 1926 to 1929 and the First Secretary of the Communist Party of the Kazakh SSR from 1936 to 1938. He succeeded Filipp Goloshschyokin during the Kazakh Famine of 1930–1933, also known as the Goloshchyokin Genocide, in which at least 1.3 million Kazakhs peoples died.[3]
