Major alar cartilage

Cartilaginous plate in the nose

The major alar cartilage (also sometimes called the greater alar cartilage, or lower lateral cartilage) is a thin, bendable piece of the nose. It helps make the upper part of the nostril shape. It bends at the tip of the nose to help connect to the inside middle part of the nose.
