Polish archbishop

Marek Jędraszewski (born 24 July 1949)[1] is a Polish Roman Catholic prelate who serve as the Archbishop of Kraków.

Early life and education

Marek Jędraszewski was born in Poznań, Poland.[2] He studied philosophy at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome. He was ordained a priest on 24 May 1973 by Archbishop Antoni Baraniak.[1]

Ecclesiastical career

Jędraszewski was appointed an auxiliary bishop of Poznań in 1997 and consecrated by Bishop Juliusz Paetz. In 2012, he became the Archbishop of Łódź. In 2017, Pope Francis appointed him as the Archbishop of Kraków, succeeding Cardinal Stanisław Dziwisz.[1][2]
