The Reverend Martin Luther King, Sr. (born Michael King; December 19, 1899 – November 11, 1984) was an African American civil rights activist and the father of Martin Luther King, Jr. He was a Baptist minister. His son – Martin Luther King, Junior – was a civil rights activist who went against racial segregation. His spouse, Alberta Williams King, was assassinated. King died on November 11, 1984 in Atlanta, Georgia at the age of 84.
