Mary Catherine Bateson
American anthropologist (1939-2021)
Mary Catherine Bateson (December 8, 1939 – January 2, 2021) was an American writer and cultural anthropologist.

Bateson published many monographs. A well-known book she wrote is With a Daughter's Eye: A Memoir of Margaret Mead and Gregory Bateson. In it, she tells what is it like, to have parents that are famous.
She taught at Harvard, Amherst, and George Mason University, among others. Bateson was a fellow of the International Leadership Forum and was president of the Institute for Intercultural Studies in New York until 2010.[1]
Bateson died on January 2, 2021, in her home in Dartmouth, New Hampshire from problems caused by a fall, aged 81.[2]
