Meccan sura

surahs of the Quran supposed to have been revealed or composed in Mecca (as opposed to Medina), before the Hijra

The Meccan suras are the suras that Muslims believe were shown to Muhammad when he was in Mecca.[1] They are usually shorter than the Medinan suras and are usually placed after them in the Qur'an.[2]
