The mixtape received generally favorable reviews from music critics. They praised 'Meet the Woo' for bringing drill music to the general public.
On August 31, 2019, Meet the Woo entered the Billboard 200 at number 173. It became Pop Smoke's first entry on the chart. After his death, the mixtape peaked at number 105 on the Billboard 200. The mixtape became more successful outside of the United States. It peaked in the top 50 of record charts in Denmark, Sweden, and the Netherlands.
Three singles were released from the mixtape. The lead single "Welcome to the Party" became a hit in New York and included two remixes from Trinidadian-born rapper Nicki Minaj and British rapper Skepta. The mixtape's third and final single "Dior" peaked at number 22 on the Billboard Hot 100. "Dior" became the rapper's first solo and posthumous hit after Pop Smoke was killed.
