Mohamed Muizzu
Dr Mohamed Muizzu[c] (born 15 June 1978) is an Maldivian politician and engineer, who is serving as the 8th president of the Maldives since 2023. Before becoming president, he was the Mayor of Malé, Minister of Housing and Infrastructure and Minister of Housing and Environment.

Early life
changeMohamed Muizzu was born 15 June 1978 in the capital of the Maldives, Malé.[1] His father, Sheikh Hussain Abdul Rahman was a judge and scholar of religion [2][3] His parents divorced after Muizzu's birth, and he was raised by his father's side grandmother until he moved back to his mother's to attend primary school. Subsequently, he moved back to live with his father[4]
