Munir Mangal

Afghanistani general and politician

Munir Mohamad Mangal (1950 – May 2, 2020) was an Afghan general. His professional military career lasted more than 40 years. Mangal was in high-level military and government positions. He was the Commander of the Afghan National Police, before his retirement in 2016.[1]

Mangal was born in Samkanay District, Paktia Province, Afghanistan, in 1950.[1]

Mangal died from COVID-19 at his home in Kabul on May 2, 2020, at the age of 70.[1]
