The National Resistance Brigades, also called Martyr Omar Al-Qassem Forces or Martyr Omar Al-Qasim Forces,[1] is the military wing of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine, operating in the Gaza Strip[2] and conducting guerrilla warfare.[3] Abu Khaled is its spokesperson as well as one of its commanders.[4][5] The group originally broke away from the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine in 1969 forming the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine and also causing the formation of the National Resistance Brigades in 2000.[6][7]
