Neko Atsume: Kitty Collector is a cat collecting game for iOS and Android made by Hit-Point Co.,Ltd. It was released on October 20, 2014 and has been downloaded more than 19 million times.[3][4]

The game starts by purchasing foods, toys, and furniture to attract cats to the player's home. The player can watch cats playing with objects, take photos, and receive gifts of "niboshi" (にぼし, small dried sardines) and "mementos", which means treasure or prizes, from them.

Right now, there are 62 cats for the player to collect. Inside these, 22 cats are "rare cats" and only appear when special items are in the player's home.
