Nino Rota

Italian composer

Giovanni Rota Rinaldi (1911-1979) or just Nino Rota was an Italian composer, pianist, conductor and academic. He is known for film music. He composed the music for Francis Ford Coppola's Godfather trilogy. He won an Academy Award for Best Original Score for The Godfather: Part II.[1] He wrote over 150 scores for films from 1930s to 1979.[2] He also composed operas, ballets, orchestra works, chamber music and choral works.[3]
