No Church in the Wild
No Church in the Wild is a hip hop song by American rappers Kanye West and Jay-Z. The song features American singers Frank Ocean and The-Dream. It is from their collaborative studio album, Watch the Throne. It was released on March 20, 2012. The song's lyrics talk about themes of religion and decadence.[1][2] The track received very positive reviews from music critics. It is because they praised Ocean's vocal hooks, the depth of the verses, and the cinematic production and the song's power as an opening track.[3][4][5]
Commercially, the song peaked at number 72 at the Billboard Hot 100.[6] It also peaked at the top 40 of the US Billboard Hot Rap Songs[7] and Hot R&B/Hip Hop songs.[8] Jay-Z and Kanye West both performed this song at the Watch the Throne Tour.[9] Also, Frank Ocean performed his portion of the song on several occasions during his November 2011 tour.[10] The song has been used in various media. The most notable ones are for the 2013 film The Great Gatsby[11] and for the 2012 film Safe House.[12]
