Optare Visionaire

an open top double-decker bus body built by Optare

The Optare Visionaire (known as East Lancs Visionaire) was a 2-axle and 3-axle low-floor open-top bus body. It was built between 2006 to c.2011 by East Lancashire Coachbuilders and then Darwen Group and then Optare respectively. It was built on Scania N230UD chassis,[1] Scania N270UD chassis and Volvo B9TL chassis, (2[2] or 3[3][4] axle)

History change

Wilts & Dorset Optare Visionaire bodied Scania N230UD in Bournemouth, Dorset in July 2009

East Lancs went into Administration in August 2007 and was bought by the Darwen Group. The body was renamed Darwen Visionaire.

Reverse takeover by Optare change

Following the reverse takeover of Optare by Darwen Group in June 2008, the Visionaire was again renamed Optare Visionaire
