Order of Jamaica
national order in the Jamaican honours system
The Order of Jamaica is an honor given to any Jamaican citizen or to anyone from any other country. The order was made in 1969.
Members and Honorary Members must do:
- wear the Insignia of the Order as a decoration
- be named "The Honourable"
- use the post nominal letters "OJ" (Members) or "OJ (Hon.)" (Honorary Members).
The motto of the Order is "For a covenant of the people".
