History
changeOutskirts Press started in 2002 to give authors an alternative way to publish their books. Instead of traditional publishing, they focus on helping authors self-publish.[1][2] Between 2004 and 2006, the company grew quickly, and in 2007, The Denver Business Journal named it one of the fastest-growing private companies in Colorado.[3][4]
The company was included in the Inc. 500 list in 2009 and the Inc. 5000 list from 2010 to 2012.[5] Outskirts Press has been rated as "A+" by Better Business Bureau.[6]
Outskirts Press offers services like formatting manuscripts, designing covers, assigning ISBNs, printing, and distributing books.[7][8][9] Authors keep control and ownership of their books throughout the process.[10][11] The company also provides other services, such as writing press releases, creating author websites, and promoting books on social media.[12][13]
