Patrick Devedjian

French politician (1944–2020)

Patrick Devedjian (Armenian: Պատրիկ Դևեջյան; 26 August 1944 – 29 March 2020) was a French politician. He was a member of the Union for a Popular Movement (UMP) party. He was a close adviser of Nicolas Sarkozy, starting in the 1990s.

From 1983 to 2002, he was Mayor of Antony. He was Minister under the Prime Minister in charge of the Implementation of the Recovery Plan beginning in December 2008. In 2007, Devedjian became President of the General Council of Hauts-de-Seine.

Devedjian was born in Fontainebleau, Seine-et-Marne. He died on 29 March 2020 of COVID-19 in Antony, aged 75.[1][2]
