Peter George (professor)
Canadian economist (1941–2017)
Peter James George, CM, O.Ont (September 12, 1941 – April 27, 2017) was a Canadian economist and university academic.[1] He was born in Toronto, Ontario. On June 30, 2010, he retired after serving three five year terms as President and Vice-Chancellor of McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario. He became President and Vice-Chancellor in 1995. He was the longest serving President of McMaster University.[2]
George died of cancer at his home in Hamilton, Ontario on April 27, 2017 at the age of 75.[3]
