Philip Bliss
19th century Christian hymnodist (1838–1876)
Philip Paul Bliss (July 9, 1838 – December 29, 1876) was an American writer of hymns. He was also a Gospel music singer. He wrote many well-known hymns in his lifetime. He also wrote the tune for Horatio Spafford's "It Is Well with My Soul".
