Polish Committee of National Liberation

The Polish Committee of National Liberation, was an executive governing authority established by the Soviet-backed communists in Poland at the later stage of World War II. Installed in July 1944 in Lublin, it was a provisional entity functioning in opposition to the London based Polish government-in-exile (which was recognised by the Western Allies). It governed land that re captured from Nazi Germany and the General Government by the soviet red army and the polish people's army.
