Richard N. Gardner

American diplomat (1927-2019)

Richard Newton Gardner (July 9, 1927 – February 16, 2019) was an American politician. He was born in New York City. He was the United States Ambassador to Spain from 1993 to 1997 and the United States Ambassador to Italy from 1977 to 1981. He was a professor emeritus of law at Columbia Law School.[1]

Gardner died on February 16, 2019 in New York City at the age of 91.[2]
