Robert Levin
American musician
Robert David Levin (born October 13, 1947) is an American classical pianist, musicologist, and composer.[1]
Education
changeHe studied in Harvard University where he got a bachelor degree in arts in 1968 with a thesis entitled The Unfinished Works of W. A. Mozart.[2]
Career
changeIn addition to music history and theory Levin's academic career also includes teaching performance practice with an emphasis on the Classical period. From 1986 to 1993, he worked as professor of piano at the Hochschule für Musik Freiburg in Germany. Since 1993 he's been a professor at his alma mater, Harvard University.
Levin completed or reconstructed unfinished compositions by Mozart and J.S.Bach.
