Russell Trood

politician and academic in Queensland, Australia (1948–2017)

Russell Brunell Trood (5 December 1948 – 9 January 2017) was an Australian politician. He was a member of the Liberal Party. He served as a Senator for Queensland from 1 July 2005 until 30 June 2011. He later served as the National President of the United Nations Association of Australia from 2012 to 2016. He was born in Melbourne, Victoria.

Trood died from thyroid cancer on 9 January 2017 in Brisbane, Queensland. He was 68.[1]
