Samuel James Veluppillai Chelvanayakam (also spelled Chelvanayagam, Tamil: சாமுவேல் ஜேம்ஸ் வேலுப்பிள்ளை செல்வநாயகம் 31 March 1898 - 26 April 1977) was a Ceylonese lawyer and politician. He was Tamil. He was a Member of Parliament and was a political leader of the Sri Lankan Tamil community for more than two decades.
