Sanjukta Dutta[1][2][3] is an Indian fashion designer.[4][5][6] Her work integrates traditional Assamese textiles and motifs with contemporary fashion[7] elements, highlighting the cultural heritage of Assam[8] on national and international platforms.[9][10][11][12]

Early life and education
changeSanjukta Dutta was born in Nagaon, Assam, India. She pursued her education in engineering and graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree from Assam Engineering College.[13] After completing her studies, she began working as an Assistant Engineer in the Public Works Department (PWD).[14][15][16][17]
Career
changeDutta's interest in fashion and her desire to promote Assamese culture led her to start a weaving unit in Guwahati in January 2012. Subsequently, she resigned from her job in the engineering field to focus on her career as a fashion designer. She established her own fashion label, Sanjukta Studio, which is known for its fusion of Assamese traditional weaves with modern fashion trends[2]
Her designs have been showcased at various international fashion shows, and she has worked to represent Assamese culture through her garments, which often feature traditional motifs and weaving techniques from the region.
