Sid Ramin

American orchestrator, arranger, and composer (1919-2019)

Sidney Norton Ramin (January 22, 1919 – July 1, 2019) was an American orchestrator, arranger, and composer. He was born in Boston, Massachusetts. With Leonard Bernstein and Irwin Kostal, he co-orchestrated the music for West Side Story. He is the composer of the famous hit "Music to Watch Girls By". He won an Academy Award for Best Music, Scoring of a Musical Picture in 1962.

Ramin died on July 1, 2019 in New York City from natural causes at the age of 100.[1]
