South Slavs

subgroup of Slavic peoples who speak the South Slavic languages

The South Slavs are the Slavic peoples living in south-eastern Europe in the Balkans region. Since the 10th century, they have lived separated from the West and East Slavs by Germans, Magyars and Romanians.[1] The South Slavs are also called Balkan Slavs.[2]
