The Standards Institution of Israel (SII) is the institution that is responsible for setting standards for products and services in Israel. The institution does testing and certification of products (by providing "standards") and ensuring the quality of products.
The institute is funded from payments it collects from user services. The government finances only about 1.5 percent of its budget. The institute is located in Tel Aviv, near to Tel Aviv University.
