Steve Bartek

American guitarist, film composer, conductor, and orchestrator

Steve Bartek (born January 30, 1952, in Garfield Heights, Ohio, USA) is an American guitarist, film composer, conductor and orchestrator. He is best known as the lead guitarist in the band Oingo Boingo and for his orchestration work with composer Danny Elfman.

Along with John Avila, he produced Dexter's Laboratory: The New Wave Experiment (1997), a soundtrack album with music inspired by Dexter's Laboratory. Bartek originally intended to be the show's main composer, but his demo was rejected by creator Genndy Tartakovsky, who despite being a Oingo Boingo fan, had concerns about his cartoon being pushed aside he was doing orchestral work with Danny Elfman.
