Straight Lines

single

"Straight Lines" is a song by the Australian rock band Silverchair. It was released on March 20, 2007 as a single, and ten days later it was released on their fifth and final album, titled Young Modern. It reached number-one on the charts in Australia, becoming their third and last number-one single there.

It was written by the group's lead singer and guitarist Daniel Johns, as well as Australian musician Julian Hamilton. "Straight Lines" is one of only four Silverchair songs to feature a co-writing credit by a non-member, the other three also being songs from Young Modern co-written by Johns and Hamilton.
