Very difficult to simplify further without removing essential content. The references are usually heavy stuff. Anyway, simplifying wording produced slightly better scores:
- Automated RES index 1: before 45.4, after 53.4
- Automated RES index 2: before 52, after 63
It's just a fact of life that this kind of content is going to require secondary school or college-level reading skills. I only put in material which seems to me to be essential.
