Women's hockey is not nearly as followed as the NHL. I'm changing the article to note that.
Most of the best players in the NHL? change
The article states that most of the best players in the world play in the NHL. I understand that there is a new league in Russia that is trying to directly compete with the NHL for the best players, but not being as familiar with hockey as with other sports, I am unsure of the extent to which they have succeeded. Could somebody with more of a familiarity with the sport shed some light on whether this part of the article needs to be updated based on this new league? Kansan (talk) 15:50, 9 April 2010 (UTC)
- As the resident hockey person on simple, I can say that the KHL wants to compete with the NHL but its a long way from being considered on the same level. Its generally considered somewhere between the NHL and the NHL's minor league the American Hockey League. But it is still debated if its even better than the AHL. They pay big bucks to lure some superstars but don't generally have as good over all quality. -DJSasso (talk) 15:52, 9 April 2010 (UTC)
