Just FYI, I disagree with the part reputation-the American army was gutted under Truman. Read This Kind Of War to see how unprepared the USA was for this conflict.
Edit Conflict change
I had just pressed "Save Page" when it told me there was an edit conflict. It had been edited by two people at the same time. By me and by Isis.
I tried to get all the info I had written back in along with Isis' info, but I might have missed something out, if you're reading this Isis, please re-add it and I'm sorry, I didn't really know how to handle that :s
