None of this vocabulary is simple:

  • composed
  • retain
  • tract
  • duodenum
  • lumen
  • gastrointestinal
  • reentering

Whenever possible sentences should be written in a basic subject-verb-object structure. None of these are.

Example: "Its main functions are avoiding the reentering of content from duodenum and stopping large-sized or undigested food from leaving stomach." Flesch reading ease score: 46.9

Suggested: The pylorus controls the opening between the stomach and the duodenum. It stops large pieces of food from leaving the stomach. It also stops digested food from returning to the stomach from the duodenum. Flesch reading ease score: 83.4

Flesch reading ease scores are one measure of the difficulty of a text. I calculated these here. The lower the number, the more difficult. Aim for at least 60, if not higher. Break each sentence down and always provide a clear subject. Keep the subject close to an active verb, not a passive verb if possible.

I've made some changes. I don't know how to replace "duodenum" as it is the name of a biological structure.” Teles (T @ L C S) 00:12, 23 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
