Talk:Riemann zeta function

Merge change

I propose this article be merged into the Riemann hypothesis article. I believe this would help with complexity issues. FrancesO (talk) 01:36, 16 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Sorry for crude text, I'm not an editor or used with this script. However, I would like to agree with FrancecO. As the zeta function rarely is mentioned without mentioning the hypothesis (and vice versa), these two articles should -in a Simple English Wiki- be combined for an easier understanding of the whole topic.

Moving comment to Talk:Riemann hypothesis to keep things in one place. πr2 01:00, 23 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

Changes change

Now that I've managed to edit the right page, I'll outline the changes that I made:

  • While   does look more aesthetically pleasing, I feel that   is clearer to readers.
  •   is a subset of  , so saying that it "can involve" i doesn't make much sense.
  • It must be clearly stated that the Riemann zeta function does not represent the infinite series where it doesn't converge, ie.  . Else, we get nonsense like
  • I expanded about Euler's work on the function. I intend to continue expanding this page.

I just clarified that it is actually a complex continuation of that series, not just the series. Valery Zapolodov (talk) 07:51, 4 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

Re-direct change

There should be a re-direct from "Zeta function" (or name the page "Zeta function" and expand it). Kdammers (talk) 21:41, 16 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Return to "Riemann zeta function" page.
