Vandalism

change

You appear to be doing fine so far, please continue. You might want to read WP:VANDAL so that you have a better understanding and so that you can learn how to warn vandals also. If after a final warning the vandal continues you can report them at WP:VIP and we can review whether or not to block them from editing. Welcome to Wikipedia!! :) fr33kman talk 23:21, 1 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Please remember to sign warnings

change

Hi. I see you're getting into the warnings business :) Good! Please remember to sign your warnings however, with ~~~~. We need to be sure that you are doing correct reversions (which you are) and correct warnings (which you need a bit of practice with) in order to grant you rollback rights here. Rollback allows you to do reversions in a single-click and saves the project bandwidth also. I'll check back in a couple of days fr33kman talk 17:26, 2 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

How are you liking it here

change

Hi, just dropping in to ask if you are enjoying you time here? You seem to be fitting in well! I think you may benefit from WP:ROLLBACK, would you like it added to your account? fr33kman talk 17:05, 6 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

You now have rollback. There are three things I have to ask you to always do; 1) sign all your (talk page/user talk page) posts with ~~~~, that is four ~ (tildes) (you are hit and miss about doing this); 2) warn any user who you revert for vandalism with the right template located at WP:VANDAL; and 3) only use rollback for reverting obvious vandalism, if you are not 100% sure, use undo instead. These three things are requirements for using rollback. You can use rollback freely in your own userspace and usertalk space to revert your own edits. I'll get back to you on what you can do to help the project further. (I'm going for a shower now( :) fr33kman talk 17:20, 6 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Importing pages from enWP

change

Hi, just to give you some guidelines, have a read of this and it'll tell you how to properly import pages. Cheers! fr33kman talk 18:05, 6 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hello, FrancesO. You have new messages at Fr33kman's talk page.
You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.

User talk:209.175.16.30

change

I'd have recommended a level two warning {{uw-test2}} rather than a level three {{uw-test3}}. The reason being is that this could be a shared IP address and could be a totally different user than the previous warning; which was a while ago in any case. I'd also recommend putting a heading over the warning such as ==March 2009==. All the best! :) fr33kman talk 19:28, 6 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

That's OK

change

Hello, that's OK. I think there's a warning message at the regular Wikipedia about using English but I don't know if there's one here too. LovesMacs (talk) 15:25, 7 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hello, another user chimed in about your warning message on my talk page. Here it is in case you missed it:
Given that the user removed large tracts of text, I'd say you did the right thing in using warnings and rollback. I don't think this was an issue of not knowing English. VioletMoon's use of English in responding and asking for a message in Japanese was fairly fluent. fr33kman talk 16:11, 7 March 2009 (UTC)Reply
I didn't look closely at all of VioletMoon's edits at the time, only the very last one, so I think you did the right thing. LovesMacs (talk) 00:00, 8 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Riemann Hypothesis

change

Please stop reverting the edits! The version of the page you promote is needlessly complex, and the original one is far better at not confusing new english students/young children. Thankyou! 71.235.109.88 (talk) 00:14, 16 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

A lot of work has been spent (on the currently semi-protected) version of the article; in order not to lose work, I'd go for sticking a complex tag on, and staring to simplify (or putting on a header, that explains it in simpler terms). We don't want to do work several times, esp. given we are only few editors (perhaps 2 or 3 who have a background in maths). --Eptalon (talk) 00:35, 16 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Where did everyone go?

Hello Frances! Where did you and everyone go? I seem to be alone on Simple Wikipedia. I like people :-) --George Gesslein II (talk) 23:47, 3 June 2009 (UTC)Reply
