Reference 1 - wrong pronunciation? change

The pronunciation of Roux' and 'roo aren't the same to me. (the latter being a mis-pronunciation by English people of the French word...) Yottie =talk= 18:31, 25 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

I beg your pardon? The IPA annotation in enWP says "long -oo- sound as in food". How do you pronounce 'food'? Macdonald-ross (talk) 19:41, 25 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
The french word Roux is definitely not pronounced Roo. It should be made clear that the French word is pronounced differently from the English word (despite them being the same words - two different pronunciations). Yottie =talk= 19:47, 25 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
The IPA description is an independent reliable source. Macdonald-ross (talk) 20:38, 25 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
The wording is confusing, as it sounds like the French word (un roux) is pronounced roo, when clearly it is the English word (a roux) which is pronounced roo. Maybe the ref should read A French word, pronounced 'roo' in English? Yottie =talk= 20:43, 25 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
