Talk:Set

I thought that the mathematical term for a set that could contain multiple instances of an item was a bag, not a list. This also makes the recurring example somewhat confusing. — Preceding unsigned comment added by User:87.113.1.89 (talk • contribs)
- That is indeed true. I fixed the first reference. A List as stated is an ordered data structure. It is like a set, except that there is also an order relation. This makes it possible to say that a certain element comes before another one. --Eptalon 22:01, 5 April 2007 (UTC)
Consider edits
changeI have made some edits to make the article easier. In particular, pretty-mark the math symbols, added simpler illustrations of sets with geometric shapes and made some other minor edits. I think it is still relevant to:
- Consider moving Venn diagrams to the respective article Venn diagram.
- Simplify definition of Russel paradox.
- Give an example of Complement and Difference based on the cars analogy.
- Add some more links to harder terminology
