Calling administrators! This page needs to be moved to Line of succession to the British throne. Thanks. Deb (talk) 12:38, 3 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Princess Eugenie of York link broken change

I don't see why that link doesn't work.

The link doesn't work because we do not have an article on Princess Eugenie yet.--Peterdownunder (talk) 10:56, 7 December 2017 (UTC)Reply

Shorter? change

Since there is no complete official version, why does the page need to be so long? It lists many people who are not remotely likely to inherit the throne. There is no need to follow En in such a slavish way. Macdonald-ross (talk) 12:06, 13 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

Numbers Don't Add Up? change

The number 7 is missing from the line of succession. I know Harry's wife is currently pregnant, but I don't think it's official that the child be added to the line of succession until they are born. Should the numbering be changed until then?

Yes he/she is, if somehow everyone in line before him/her dies before he/she is born he/she would become the new King/Queen of England at the exact moment the last person in front of them dies, it doesn't matter that they haven't been born yet. Officially they are in the Line of Succession the moment they are conceived, even before anyone knows they are on their way to being born.

How does the Line of succession work? change

Am I correct in assuming that it was the oldest surviving son of the monarch who inherited the throne, and that in the event of say, Charles dying before his mother, Andrew becomes monarch? I am aware that there have been recent legislative changes so that sons are no longer favoured over daughters. Is it possible that if this is the case, you can enter a new section explaining this and circumstances that might demote or promote any particular line?

In English, please change

”When someone who is in line to the throne has a child, that child comes after them and their older children, but before anyone else in the line of succession.”
