changei like your words there easy to follow and understand. — This unsigned comment was added by 69.214.112.241 (talk • changes).
Complex
changeI think this article is a bit complex really. I'm going to put wave-particle duality in its own simple article, since there is no true article on it. Some articles explain it in terms of the relevance with the article but there is no simple general explanation. Adamd1008 (talk) 19:57, 13 January 2008 (UTC)
Isn't this article covering the same subject as Heisenberg's uncertainty principle? --YMS (talk) 19:53, 16 March 2013 (UTC)
- Yes, and I just put a merge template up. Discussion will be over there:

Some problems:
changeIt is unclear what "system" means in the statement
In quantum physics, the outcome of even the best measurement of a system is not already a fact, but instead is shown by a probability distribution.
and "fact" is undefined too. The English Wikipedia version has been changed and no longer uses "system" in the lead. The article on "system" is intense, and the article on thermodynamics uses the terms "theoretical system" and "physical system" but also provides a section on the subject of what is meant by "system." Systems are defined in terms of their parts, so the idea of the position and momentum of a system suggests an aggregate of some sort, but the Uncertainty Principle applies even to individual electrons. simplifying vocab
changeI've begun to go through the modified/new article using http://www.online-utility.org/english/simple_basic_helper.jsp While their app can turn out files with wictionary links, they will not easily tranfer to Wikipedia.Patrick0Moran (talk) 17:40, 17 April 2013 (UTC)
ready to change
changeI've done quite a bit of work to prepare an improved article that merges content from the current U.P. article with better information where available. So far I have not received any negative comments. So if nothing else is said I will move the draft material in to replace the curren U.P. article.
(I'd rather deal with complaints before than after.) Patrick0Moran (talk) 17:21, 24 April 2013 (UTC)
Done. I will add more citations. Patrick0Moran (talk) 07:55, 25 April 2013 (UTC)
Adding Wikt
changeI am now in the process of adding Wikt links to the harder words that I haven't figured out how to avoid. Help would be welcome. Thanks.Patrick0Moran (talk) 17:45, 25 April 2013 (UTC)
Hyperlink errors?
changeI think there's some sort of error in the opening paragraphs. The hyperlinks are random; a lot of mundane words made links. Such as "continue", "noticeably", etc.
if I have time I'll edit it. Oh, and many many thanks for SE wiki editors, this page is really readable (to me), an EaSL student. — This unsigned comment was added by 125.161.204.67 (talk • changes). 15:56, 2 May 2013 (UTC)
- It is sometimes hard to know what words people will easily understand. And people have different levels even of Simple English. So it is better to link too many words than too few. If you think some words don't need links, list them here first. Thanks. StevenJ81 (talk) 15:59, 2 May 2013 (UTC)
- I deliberately made links to words that do not fit within extended simple English vocabulary limits. Unfortunately, http://www.online-utility.org/english/simple_basic_helper.jsp does not make links that transfer right into an article. Patrick0Moran (talk) 18:26, 3 May 2013 (UTC)
Second merge discussion
changeI think the other version (Heisenberg's uncertainty principle) is clearly better, and so is the title. Therefore I would rule out merging into that article; rather, we should add any essential elements from Uncertainty, and make that page a redirect.
The topic is H's principle, not uncertainty in general. The main work was done by user:Patrick0Moran. We do lack here a specialist theoretical physicist, so some of our pages on modern physics are a bit suspect. Whatever, we have to do something about the duplication. Is there anything in this version which ought to be saved? Much of it is a bit of a ramble, probably for the reason just given. Macdonald-ross (talk) 17:34, 26 March 2017 (UTC)
Different names for same topic?
changeIsn't Heisenberg's uncertainty principle the same thing as the uncertainty principle?
