changeFamous Tidel Park, an information technology (IT) industrial park is situated here . It is South India's first IT park. The area is also known for its other IT parks including Ascendas IT Park, Ramanujam IT Park, Elnet Software City and TICEL Biotech Park.
MGR Film city
changeThe MGR Film City was constructed in Tharamani in 1996. The Film City was a major project of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa. This was made during her first term in office as Chief minister. Recently, there have been news reports that it is being made into a "Knowledge Park".[1]
