Taxila is an ancient town in Punjab, Taxila Tehsil, Pakistan. At one time, it was also part of the Indo-Greek Kingdom.
It is famous today because of a museum of Buddhist antiques nearby. There are also some old ruins of the Gandhara Buddhist civilization there. Another famous place near this town is the Nicholson Memorial a monument in memory of a British officer John Nicholson.
