Template:ISO 639 name am
Amharic
Usage
Template:ISO 639 name am is part of a series that resolves the ISO 639-1, ISO 639-2 and ISO 639-3 codes to language names.
It is used by {{Translated page}} with language code am, for example: {{Translated page |am |name of page at Amharic Wikipedia}}. This template is used to generate a link to the Amharic Wikipedia and could be used to include pages in Category:Pages translated from Amharic Wikipedia (may be created using {{Translated sub-cat |am}}).
Former usage
The following templates now use Module:Lang, which stores the language code and name data in Module:Language/data/iana languages, Module:Language/data/ISO 639-3, and Module:Language/data/wp languages.
- {{Lang|am| some text in Amharic}} wraps the text with <span lang="am"> and includes articles in Category:Articles containing Amharic-language text. Also available is {{Lang-am |some text in Amharic}} which displays as Amharic: some text in Amharic.
- {{R from other language|am|("to" language code)}} includes pages in Category:Redirects from Amharic-language terms (may be created using {{Redirect from alternative language category}}).
- {{R from alternative language|("from" language code)|am}} includes pages in Category:Redirects to Amharic-language terms (may be created using {{Redirect to alternative language category}}).
