Usage
Template:ISO 639 name hi is part of a series that resolves the ISO 639-1, ISO 639-2 and ISO 639-3 codes to language names.
It is used by {{Translated page}} with language code hi, for example: {{Translated page |hi |name of page at Hindi Wikipedia}}. This template is used to generate a link to the Hindi Wikipedia and could be used to include pages in Category:Pages translated from Hindi Wikipedia (may be created using {{Translated sub-cat |hi}}).
Former usage
The following templates now use Module:Lang, which stores the language code and name data in Module:Language/data/iana languages, Module:Language/data/ISO 639-3, and Module:Language/data/wp languages.
- {{Lang|hi| some text in Hindi}} wraps the text with <span lang="hi"> and includes articles in Category:Articles containing Hindi-language text. Also available is {{Lang-hi |some text in Hindi}} which displays as Hindi: some text in Hindi.
- {{R from other language|hi|("to" language code)}} includes pages in Category:Redirects from Hindi-language terms (may be created using {{Redirect from alternative language category}}).
- {{R from alternative language|("from" language code)|hi}} includes pages in Category:Redirects to Hindi-language terms (may be created using {{Redirect to alternative language category}}).
