The Barretts of Wimpole Street is a 1934 American romantic drama movie directed by Sidney Franklin and was based on the 1930 play of the same name by Rudolf Besier. It stars Norma Shearer, Fredric March, Charles Laughton, Maureen O'Sullivan, Katharine Alexander, Vernon Downing, Ralph Forbes and was distributed by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. It was nominated for 2 Academy Awards in 1935 and was remade in 1957.
